 How Do You Maintain a Dehumidifier So the Musty Smell Never Comes Back?

The musty smell is usually biofilm, a slimy layer of mould and bacteria, in the reservoir, on the float switch, and on the intake filter. Three percent hydrogen peroxide, a ten minute wait, then a complete water flush clears it in about five minutes. Never mix hydrogen peroxide with vinegar. 5. Check the drain line and the coil, then reconnect and restart.
